The Blak Angels Investment Network Program

The Blak Angels Investment Network is an innovative and exciting initiative established with the objective of promoting economic development and empowerment within the First Nations communities. This groundbreaking project is supported through a collaborative partnership between the U.S. Consulate General Perth, Minderoo’s Generation One, and a team of First Nations investors from Australia.

The network operates by bringing together a delegation of 10 First Nations investors, known as the “Blak Angels,” from various parts of Australia who are enthusiastic about fostering and nurturing First Nations entrepreneurs and the broader business ecosystem. The aim of these “Blak Angels” is to fund early-stage and high-growth companies. They will travel to the United States to engage with and learn from investors and other leaders from Native, Latin, and African American communities in the U.S. investment ecosystem.

In reciprocity, ten American investors will also visit various locations in Australia to meet with the ‘Blak Angels’ and other Indigenous business leaders and organisations.

The fundamental aim of the Blak Angels Investment Network is to encourage more investment in First Nations businesses, generate more job opportunities for First Nations people, and enhance people-to-people relations and bilateral investment between the U.S. and Australia.
